The first of the Fall/Winter 2011 collections to arrive in our boutique is by a very unique label: HUI-HUI. The brand was created in the summer of 2005 by 3 young German designers and friends Anne Schwätzler and sisters Katharina and Johanna Trudzinski.
Each season the three designers come up with a story for their always vibrant, clourful and edgy line, this season their collection is entitled : "Rock, Paper Scissors" just like the game we used to play as kids!
The city, as a patchwork of structures and materials led to the shapes and prints of the new collection. the rigid forms of concrete blending together into wild landscapes. starting on a flat grid, constructing a complex entity by layering volumes and flat cut outs. comparable with a round of rock, paper, scissors: which element wins over the square? when is the purple beaten by the red? where are the cut outs stronger as a print or in the fabric? and in the end the process turned out to be as playful, random and organic as urban architecture grows.
The collection is very raw, yet easy to wear with the array of original prints and fabric selection of mainly silks, cottons and some wool inserts with their signature scarfs sewn on to peices as appliques. capes onto dresses, or entire tops created out of them.
The line HUI HUI is now available to purchase at Avenue Collection in Al Aali Mall.
