The new "Souq" on the block

As a boutique owner and fashion buyer, I always like to stay updated with the latest style trends from London to Paris to NY and LA it really helps with all that glossy magazines from abroad have to offer, and I'd be lying if I didnt say they don't influence my buying choices, because they do, they are my inspiration. However there is another factor that keeps me inspired and that comes from local trends, opinions and the regional "high street".Unfortunately there is a lack of formal fashion reporting within the region to give you the information you are looking for ... untill recently when I came across an E-magazine called UrbanSouq.com founded by Rana El Sakhawy right out of fashionable Doha!
Although it has just been around for a short time, it has managed to catch the attention of fellow bloggers and twitterers from around the region.
What I love about UrbanSouq.com is that first of all its called UrbanSouq! and who wouldnt love a great "souq" (for our non Arabic speaking friends that translates into "market" and is in direct reference to "shopping). Second, Its such an entertaining "daily dose of inspiration" as they themselves call it. And third, its relevant and exactly what I was looking for just because, I need to know whats going on in the fashion world in Doha, Kuwait, Dubai,Beirut and Cairo.
What I have come to learn is that we do indeed have very different tastes in what we go for in terms of style in the GCC and Middle East, and now we have an E-zine thats going to uncover just that and for me that is just plain exciting!
