Bebaroque's Russian Dolls

This season Bebaroque’s Mhairi McNicol and Chloe Patience have taken their designs to a whole other level focusing on fairy tale imagery and Russian textiles. Their new collection, entitled “Russian Dolls”, features Bebaroque’s exquisite hosiery and also the body suit. Russian folktales are often characterised by dark and mysterious atmospheres and the duo used them as the main inspirations for their elaborate prints and ornate motifs, the latter created by applying ruches, studs and gems to both their hosiery and body pieces. Gold and silver studs form swirling patterns on black hosiery, bright red bows decorate the ankles of the very aptly named “Babooshka” tights, while Russian architecture appears in the onion dome-like motifs embroidered on one of the body suits that call to mind Moscow’s Saint Basil’s Cathedral. “We wanted to tell a story of the transformation from sweet and fresh to dark and gothic enchantment,” Chloe explains, “so for our body wear we used sheer mesh in skin colour and black and thick black jersey with satin edging, and featured quirky tattoo-inspired prints and thickly elaborate and luxurious embroidered motifs.”

Dazzling Sophie Hulme

For Autumn Winter, Sophie Hulme continues her masculine influenced silhouettes. Her designs are chic with a hard-edged sophistication. Her fabrics are mainly silks, and of course we absolutely adore her geometric, almost print-like use of bedazzling sequins that make her pieces pop! These designs each come with this season's "trinket" which dedicated buyers can collect to create individual oversize charm necklaces. The bold new Autumn Winter collection from Sophie Hulme is now available at the boutique.

Monkey & Elf

Monkey & Elf is the debut collection from UK based brother and sister design duo, Emma & Johnathan Fountain. Their collection is being described as edgy, fashion-forward, slouchy, and cool with simple cuts and bold patterns.
All of the dresses are designed to transend from day to night, to dress up with killer heels and loads of chain necklaces or dressed down with basketball trainers or miliary boots.
Their inspiration comes from 1950's films, the colour pallets of the earth, and they both have a passion for Japanese street wear.

"The way that the Japanese in particular can throw something on without trying too hard and pull of a very understated cool look is inspiring to us" says Emma Fountain.

Monkey & Elf is now available at the boutique.
