A sneak peak at the Fall Winter 2009 Collection

The fall winter mood board forcasts purple aubergines to inky blues. Tones of red and purple are often paired together to create a vibrant colour scheme that sings 'look at me'. Jewel colours also mean gems like amethyst, tanzanite and iolite make perfect accessories to lift garments in these colours. The blues are rich, and range from blue black ink, royal sapphire, iris, deepest kingfisher teal to soft turquoise. This mood is also reflected in the upcoming Baum & Pferdgarten collection which is arriving in our boutique this fall. Here is a sneak peak at some of the styles to expect.

Baum und Pferdgarten an established Danish brand gives women an opportunity to express themselves individually by offering a combination of classic styles and avant-garde pieces which can be mixed accordingly to the individual taste or occasion. Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave the designers behind the brand like to approach their designs with a touch of irony and humor–and hence their signature is somewhere in between harmony and quirky playfulness.

Her statement piece from the resort collection is the Kimono dress, made from a vintage material that she found and reworked on a hammered charmeuse fabric. She finds inspiration from vintage fabrics and textiles, and modernises them to compliment the contemporary woman’s form.
Avenue's accessories brands including Dominique Duval embellished headbands and headwraps popularised on hit shows like The Hills and Gossip Girl remain favourite choices. Bebaroque's screen-printed and Swarovski encrusted legwear can also be found. Bebaroque won last year’s Vogue Accessories designer of the year award and the line featured on Kylie Minogue’s latest tour.
Avenue Collection's style is very much trend-driven, with designs that reflect the current Spring Summer runway looks. Colour blocking is evident in the Buqet line. The New York-based designer is inspired by vintage pieces made in the 1960s and loves details, colours and styles of the era, effortlessly bringing it into the current world with a touch of modernism and sophistication. Pretty and feminine A-line dresses are made with 100 per cent silk. She also sources beautiful vintage patterned silk in New York City. All of her silhouettes combine comfort, function and style in an effortless manner. The theme of Orientalism meets the 70s is spotted through many pieces from Mina, Soo Lee and Happie Loves It.
